The Belmont Mansion is beautiful and ornate. It has a lot of rooms and fancy things. There is a lot of artwork and sculptures. The original owner, Isaac Franklin, was a slave trader who made a bunch of money. He died and left everything to his wife Adelicia who decorated everything. The house was used during the Civil War by a general. I haven’t learned much about that yet. I’m happy I could go through and see everything and learn some history, too.
